Churchfields Primary School made a Concerted effort to Participate in this Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week by carrying out the following activities, in Addition to normal PE lessons.

Churchfields Primary School has made a concerted effort to participate in the National School Sport Week Lloyds TSB is pursuing the following activities, in addition to normal classes of motor activity.


The Year 4's Were taken to Chesterton High School 's Sports Center for basketball and five-a-side football.
The children of Year 4 were taken to the center Chesterton High School athletes for basketball and football to five.

Later That Day Year 5's, in association with Numerous schools in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, Took part in the Guinness Book of World Records attempt at skipping. There Were two independent witnesses who joined us to sign That They Had seen 12 of Our Children pass the specified amount of time required to skip Continuously.
The next day the children of the 5th year, with numerous schools in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, took part in the attempt by the Guinness Book of World Records for jumping rope. There were two independent witnesses who have joined us to sign that they had seen 12 of our children pass the specified amount of time required to continuously skip.


Year 5's used the High School's tennis courts to play Various sets of mixed doubles Which Provided an added dimension to the skills They Had Been Practising school.An back at inter-school tournament rounders Took Place at the High School. We Also Friarswood Primary School invited to join us for an extra-curricular basketball game.
Children in year 5 have used the tennis court in high school to play several sets of mixed doubles, which required a larger size skills for which they were trained in school. An inter-school tournament rounders took place in the school. We also invited Friarswood Primary School to join us for a basketball game extracurricular.


There Was a lunchtime intra-school soccer competition Which the 'Yellow Tiger' won.

There Was aerobic activity for Year 3's presented by former pupil Fay.

An inter-school swimming gala Was Organised by Sarah Jackson (Chesterton Primary) and Sarah Beech, attended by three schools.

Key Stage One Would Be targeted with The following week The following sessions:


  • multi-skills session for Year 2's

  • to Streetdance sessions for Years 1 and 2

  • a family 'mothers and toddlers' swim for Reception children.

The Key stage one (the basic grade one) would have targeted the following week with the following sessions:

  • multi-skills session for the children in Year 2
  • session dance in the street for the children of 1st and 2nd year swim
  • family 'mothers and children "for the children of the year reception.

The scheme definitely raised the profile of sport in our school and Gave Some children the opportunity to 'try out' some sports not Normally They Might Be Exposed to. There ought to be one more Often!

The project has undoubtedly raised the profile of sport in our school and gave some children the opportunity to try some sports they normally would not be able to come in contact. There should be more often!
